Heli Me is the fully owned and operated tourism brand of Eagleflight Technics Limited, one of New Zealand’s largest and most respected helicopter companies, established in 1983.

The Brief:

HeliMe is a leading luxury travel company based in Auckland. They endeavour to personalise the flying experience and make customers feel special. HeliMe approached Lime Digital to build a Shopify website enabling customers to purchase flight packages online. Given the nature of the category & how niche it is, we at Lime Digital grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

The Challenge:

Less than 10% of the overall bookings were generated through the old website. The UX was completely lacking, hence the bookings were not robust. There was no aesthetically pleasing UI to compliment the UX either. With an ambition to grow from 10% to 25%, the website had to be armed with a well-thought-through functional UX & pleasing UI to display the luxury & complement marketing.

The Solution:

We took a step-by-step approach to the project.

Step 1: We defined the Information Architecture based on marketing data. All pages, sections and links were set up to convert.
Step 2: The UI was defined by the new branding and logo. The website breathed luxury and did justice to the brand.
Step 3: We set up the Shop front on Shopify based on the IA & UI integrating with the Shopify booking system.
Step 4: The final output was a well-designed, well-thought-through website that was responsive & ready for conversions.
Step 5: Post go live, we set up the marketing that was Google-centric and Adwords was the most optimal route to generate traffic and bookings

The Outcome:

Our efforts came to fruition by the end of 2022, the below chart highlights the performance in 2021 vs 2022We managed to
  1. Increase website users by 38.54%
  2. New users to the website shot up by 35.93%
  3. The average sessions increased by 42%
  4. The bounce rate decreased by 1.66%
  5. Transactions increased 44.44% YOY.
  6. The most important metric was revenue for the client which increased by a whopping 303.12%
